あの驚くべきわかりやすさと強烈なインパクトはどこからくるのか。この本にはジョブズとゲイツのプレゼンを平均単語数、語彙密度、難解語、難読指数、言葉の複雑度で比較するという興味深い試みと納得の結果が示されている。ジョブズのプレゼンのキレはデータ解析でも示せるものだったのか。

ジョブズ流の基本は

・計画はアナログでまとめる
・一番大事な問いに答える
・救世主的な目的意識を持つ
・ツイッターのようなヘッドラインを作る
・ロードマップを描く

という５つの方法。それらを実現するためのたくさんのテクニックが紹介される。プレゼンの作り方、話し方ももちろん大切だが、アイコンタクト、しゃべる姿勢、手振りなどノンバーバルコミュニケーションも重要な要素だ。

そして何より納得したのはジョブズが５分間のデモのために数百時間の練習をしていること。そこに書かれた文字を読み上げるようなプレゼンをしてはいけない。そのためには台本を捨てる、徹底的に頭に叩き込む、だからシンプルなスライドになる、ということなのだ。
